Andrew C. Phan

Andrew's first camera was a cheap silver Sanyo camera that came from Vietnam. However, after that, you would never see him without a camera again. Putting on plays as a kid at family camping trips, Andrew combined his love for storytelling with passion for visuals together.

Focused on fine art photography and cinema, Andrew looks to explore intimate personal and societal moments. Utilizing both analogue film and digital mediums, he looks to uncover human emotions and responses through films and photographs. Andrew's work looks to foster bold, unique, and inclusive stories.

Andrew's previous film experiences and work spans include narrative, documentary, and digital media as well as portrait and street photography. On those projects, he's worked as a producer, director, cinematographer, camera assistant and colorist.

He currently interns at the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences as part of the GOLD program in the Production Track for Cinematography and resides in Los Angeles as a freelance cinematographer.
